Excellent and well equiped, with amazing views., and doorstep access to amazing walks, and excellent base for the whole Lake District area. House is amazing with loads of space and equiped with anything you could require. The kids particularly enjoyed playing the piano, and stable fast WiFi. Snow covered peaks on the day we left! The house was wonderful - we walked every day including Kentmere Horshoe [kudos!], reservoir, and Garburn Pass to Troutbeck. Loved the stoat that we saw on most days by the wall (February 2024)

Beautifully restored 18th century farmhouse nestled in Kentmere. Great mixture of old restorations and new additions (e.g. the fully glass enclosed dining area in the back). Easy access to Staveley and short drives to Kendal and Windermere. Excellent hiking, biking and fishing right from the front door. Lots of sheep everywhere and even saw a fox. Vanessa is a caring and responsive host. Spent nearly two weeks here and enjoyed every minute (Airbnb 5 stars August 2023)

What a special house - well located, well equipped, super comfortable (good quality furnishings, beds and bedding etc) and the jewel in the crown of the house is the glass dining room, with far reaching ever varying views to the hills beyond. What a wonderful place. Great for our two families and had everything you would wish to have to make your stay excellent. A good base to explore the walks and the lakes on your doorstep. We ate a lot in the dining room with the fire going. Our kids loved the lounge area with comfortable sofa’s to watch evening films. This beautiful cottage is the perfect retreat for anyone needing to get a balance between taking stock & enjoying a break, and also at the same time being able to be in the centre of town shopping, having lunch and enjoying beautiful walks around the lakes. The cottage is superbly equipped, my brother is a chef and he was well impressed with the kitchen! Plus the piano was a bonus for me and my son thought it was amazing that I could play which was a lovely experience. Bedding, Towels, etc all top quality, and the views were simply to die for. We just wanted to drop you an email to say what a wonderful stay we had at One Long Houses. You have done such an amazing job with the renovation and it is beautifully decorated!  None of us wanted to leave! The location is absolutely stunning.  I was in my element as I do a lot of trail running so took advantage of exploring the locality. The children absolutely loved swimming in the reservoir as well as the walk up there. We were so lucky with the amazing weather. (email August 2021)

If you’re looking for luxury, tranquility and a place to get away from it all with a large group or family, this is the place. The house is excellently equipped and so beautifully situated. We used the house as a base to explore the area and we’re always delighted to “come home”. It’s beautifully decorated and has a lovely informal vibe. The rooms are big and the entertaining spaces are excellent. We had small kids with us who loved the outdoor spaces - and the neighbouring sheep. The weather helped (we had 7 days of sunshine which is seemingly unheard of in the Lake District) but our trip to one long houses was a staycation to remember. (via Airbnb 5 stars, July 2021)

A beautiful well equipped long house in a fabulous location central to the lakes with stunning views. Luxury farmhouse meets modern chic retreat with flagstone floors, underfloor heating, floor to ceiling glass windows capturing gorgeous views of hills and tarns. Beautifully decorated and very cosy with log burners, comfortable furniture and exceptionally comfortable beds with luxurious bedding, trendy and sophisticated lighting...everything you need for a fabulous home from home. It was spotless, smelled super fresh and had so many little areas indoors and out to capture the views at different times of the day as well as to capture the sunshine. Wrap around glass windows in sun room overlooking hills dotted with sheep provided great opportunity to spot hares and other wildlife. Breathtaking!!! (via Airbnb, April 2021)
